The Seychelles enjoy a warm and pleasant equatorial climate all year round, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C. The archipelago is located outside the cyclone belt. The seasons are paced by the trade winds:

  • De May to October, the southeast winds bring cooler and drier weather (ideal for hiking and sailing).
  • De December to March, the northwest winds bring warmer and more humid weather with more frequent showers.
  • The transition months, April and November, are often calm and perfect for diving and snorkeling.

Seychellois Creole cuisine is a tasty blend of French, African, Indian, and Chinese influences, highlighting seafood. Try the fish or octopus curries with coconut milk, the grilled fish freshly caught, the millionaire’s salad (heart of palm) and the shark chutney. The ladob is a typical dish that can be savoury (with salted fish) or sweet (with bananas and sweet potatoes cooked in coconut milk).
