Each island of the Seychelles is a treasure. On La Digue, the beach of Anse Source d’Argent is an absolute must-see with its granite boulders. On Praslin, don’t miss the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO-listed site, to admire the famous Coco de Mer in a forest that seems from another time, as well as the beach ofAnse Lazio. On Mahé, the main island, the capital Victoria with its colourful market and “Little Ben” clock offers a cultural touch. The Morne Seychellois National Park allows for beautiful hikes. Meeting the Aldabra giant tortoises on Curieuse Island or in enclosures is a memorable experience.


The Seychelles enjoy a warm and pleasant equatorial climate all year round, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C. The archipelago is located outside the cyclone belt. The seasons are paced by the trade winds:

Seychellois Creole cuisine is a tasty blend of French, African, Indian, and Chinese influences, highlighting seafood. Try the fish or octopus curries with coconut milk, the grilled fish freshly caught, the millionaire’s salad (heart of palm) and the shark chutney. The ladob is a typical dish that can be savoury (with salted fish) or sweet (with bananas and sweet potatoes cooked in coconut milk).

The Coco de Mer seed, endemic to the island of Praslin, is the largest and heaviest seed in the plant kingdom, weighing up to 25 kg.
The official currency is the Seychellois Rupee (SCR). However, Euros (€) and US Dollars ($) are widely accepted in hotels and for tourist activities. Credit cards are also prevalent in major establishments. It’s useful to have Rupees for small local businesses.
The inhabitants of the Seychelles are called Seychellois and Seychelloises.
The Seychelles have three official languages: Seychellois Creole, English, and French. All are commonly used and understood.
In the Seychelles, the plugs are type G (British model with 3 rectangular prongs). An adapter is therefore essential for European devices. The voltage is 240V and the frequency is 50Hz.
