What are the must-see places to visit in Finland?

Finland offers unique experiences. The capital, Helsinki, attracts with its design architecture, its Suomenlinna sea fortress (UNESCO), and its cathedrals. The Lapland is the flagship region, with Rovaniemi, the official village of Santa Claus, and the Arktikum museum. It’s the ideal place for a dog or reindeer sled ride and to observe the northern lights. The lake region, in the center of the country, is a spectacular blue and green labyrinth, perfect for a retreat in a “mökki” (wooden chalet) by the water. Finally, the old town of Porvoo, with its colorful wooden houses, is one of the most picturesque in the country.

  • Summer (June to August): Pleasantly mild and bright, with average temperatures of 15 to 20°C. It’s the period of the midnight sun in the north.
  • Autumn (September to November): The season of “ruska,” where forests are adorned with spectacular colors, before winter arrives.
