My favorite
Yosemite Park
After San Francisco, I hit the road towards Yosemite, a national park that left me speechless. Two nights in a hotel at the heart of Yosemite Valley, surrounded by majestic mountains and waterfalls, was an unforgettable experience. I managed to do a few short hikes and admire the sublime waterfall. I spent 2 days with my head held high, I couldn’t get enough of observing, it’s truly impressive. My only regret is having spent only two days there.

Activities I recommend
Go Car in San Francisco
Do this upon arrival and you'll have a complete tour of the city, it's great. I opted for the 3-hour route. This allows you to return to the places you liked the most in the following days.
Whale Watching in Monterey
An impressive sight. You just have to be patient, but I was lucky enough to see a good thirty of them, including one that made an incredible jump out of the water!
Hollywood Studios
I recommend going during the week to avoid the crowds. This park is so immersive and the attractions are really well done. It's a must-see stop if you're heading towards Los Angeles.
Eating burgers, of course!
My favorite: Gott's Roadside. But there are so many places to have them. Some will stay loyal to In 'N Out, while others will prefer lesser-known spots.
My advice
I highly recommend renting a car to explore the California coast. It’s so liberating, and the views are incredible at every stop. And Yosemite? Three days there is just the minimum to see it all. The beauty of the landscapes is breathtaking. Even if you consider leaving Los Angeles earlier, the coast really deserves to be fully discovered. Every stop is worth it!
