Cyprus - Exploring the Island of the Gods

Cyprus is an island that must absolutely be discovered. With its Greek heritage, Paphos and its surroundings will introduce you to a fascinating culture filled with its monuments and archaeological excavations.

My favorite

PETRA TOU ROMIOU

In English, Aphrodite’s Rock is the birthplace of this goddess. Lost along the Mediterranean coast of the island, this rock is bathed in turquoise water and is still preserved from mass tourism. According to legend, it is here that the goddess of love emerged.
The waters surrounding the rock are reputed for their magical properties. A swim is said to bestow youth and eternal beauty. Due to its position, the site offers a spectacular panorama with a view of the Mediterranean Sea, enhanced by its gradients of turquoise waters.

Visit to the Villa of Dionysus

Located at the port of Paphos, the Villa of Dionysus is part of a historical archaeological excavation site. You will discover mosaics that testify to the artistic richness of the era. This visit allows immersion into the daily life of the time. It's a must-see for archaeology enthusiasts and lovers of ancient culture.

Stroll along the coast

Most hotels are located by the sea, making it possible to stroll along the coast, all the way to the port and beyond. Indeed, a pedestrian path spanning over 12 km follows the various beaches. For running or walking enthusiasts, it is ideal with its magnificent view of the crystal-clear waters and the sea breeze.

Mezze tasting

Cyprus is discovered through its history but also through its culinary specialties. Inspired by Greek cuisine, it is essential to share a mezze during your stay. In one of the island's taverns, discover through a meal several specialties that make the island renowned. Stuffed vine leaves to grilled Halloumi or even the catch of the day, it's a true feast. There are multiple servings to allow you to taste as many dishes as possible. A guaranteed feast!

Star Star

Wine and local product tasting

Nestled in the valleys, Cyprus is full of picturesque villages with charming cobbled alleys and craft shops. Near these villages, you can stop by a winemaker to taste the island's wines but also its products like olive oil, cheese, and bread. For wine lovers, this activity is not to be missed.

My advice

Cyprus is an island to be discovered all year round. In November, the temperatures are ideal for exploring the remains of the Roman Empire as well as the small villages with a captivating history.

To discover the town differently, don’t hesitate to dine in small local restaurants like Theo’s Seafood Restaurant where you can enjoy their Fish Mezze directly at the port of Paphos!
