Sri Lanka - Jewel of the Indian Ocean

Going to Sri Lanka was a truly fascinating experience for me. Its varied landscapes, from golden beaches to verdant tea hills, are breathtakingly beautiful. The cultural richness, with its ancient Buddhist temples and colourful festivals, attests to a deep spiritual past.

The cuisine, rich in spices and flavours, along with the famous Ceylon tea, adds a uniquely sensory dimension. What impressed me the most was the hospitality of Sri Lankans: always smiling and welcoming despite economic and political challenges.

Sri Lanka is a destination that embodies diversity and resilience, offering each visitor a memorable and enriching experience.

My favorite

Galle

Discovering the fortified city of Galle in Sri Lanka is enchanting thanks to its colonial charm and idyllic beaches. A true haven of peace, the city of Galle is a very pleasant stop on your trip with its monuments, shops, and beaches.

Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Sanctuary

If you are sensitive to animal welfare, this activity is for you. This sanctuary, located on the southwest coast of the island, plays a crucial role in protecting marine turtles threatened with extinction and offers visitors an educational and emotional experience.

My advice

To make the most of the destination, I advise you to visit the island in the form of a circuit. It would be a shame to stick to one region when the country has so much to offer.
If you are animal lovers, make a stop at Yala National Park where you will have the chance to discover many species such as birds, leopards, elephants, buffaloes…

A country is also experienced through its cuisine, I recommend tasting the local specialty: the Wellawahum, a dish of crepes or pancakes with grated coconut and palm sap. Excellent!
