Cuba - between hiking and leisure
In Cuba, I discovered much more than stunning landscapes, blending forests, mountains, sea, and city.
It is in the simplicity of daily life, through interactions with locals, salsa lessons, coffee culture, cigars, and strolls, that I found the true richness of this country.
An excellent hike in a gorgeous forest allowing for a swim in the cold and clear waters of the waterfall.
Our guide was absolutely remarkable, very knowledgeable about the birds, trees, and medicinal plants. He spoke very good English and explained all about coffee culture. We even got to drink some directly with the growers.
We were then taken by our very good taxi driver to a local restaurant for a delicious buffet.
Once back, we visited the beautiful village of Trinidad.
Hiking in Topes de Collantes Natural Park
I recommend wandering and getting lost in the streets of Havana. It allowed me to discover its architectural and historical treasures. Music fills the alleys creating a joyful and lively atmosphere. Havana offers a unique adventure where the past and present meet on every corner.
Hikes around Trinidad and Viñales showcase the island's mountains with their magnificent landscapes. You can enjoy the calm and natural beauty of Cuba, combining the history of Trinidad with the nature of Viñales for an unforgettable experience.
Varadero is perfect for resting with its sun, turquoise water, and boat trips. This paradisiacal setting offers an ideal mix of relaxation and water activities.
Most of the hotels are located in Varadero, but I strongly recommend exploring the entire island.
By stepping away from this area, you will discover true Cuban life.
For my part, I spent two nights in Havana, one night in Viñales, one night in Trinidad, then the rest of the stay in Varadero to relax.
I also encourage you to have fun dancing in salsa bars.
