- Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October): Ideal seasons to visit, with pleasant temperatures, lots of sunshine, and blooming nature (spring) or warm colors (autumn). The best travel period is usually from April to October.

Greek cuisine is typically Mediterranean, healthy and tasty.
- La Greek salad (horiatiki), the moussaka, souvlaki (meat skewers), tzatziki (yogurt with cucumber and garlic) and gyros are emblematic dishes.
- Try the dolmades (stuffed vine leaves), keftedes (meatballs), and a wide variety of fresh grilled fish and seafood.
- L’Olive oil is the base of many dishes, and feta cheese is ubiquitous.
- For dessert, baklava or Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts are delicious.
