What are the must-see places to visit?

Colombia is full of magnificent sites. Cartagena de Indias, with its fortified city and colors, is an unforgettable experience. In the Coffee Zone, visit traditional fincas. In Bogota, explore the La Candelaria district and the Gold Museum. The Tayrona Natural National Park offers idyllic beaches and lush jungle. For adventure, the Tatacoa Desert and the Cocora Valley (giant wax palms) are must-sees.

What is the climate?

The climate is extremely varied due to geographical diversity. Tropical on the coasts and plains, it becomes temperate to subtropical in the Andean mountains and cooler at high altitudes. Seasons are defined by humidity rather than temperature (dry season and rainy season). The ‘dry season’ (December-March and July-August) is generally preferred for travel.

What to eat? The local gastronomy

Colombian cuisine is hearty and flavorful. Try theAjiaco (chicken and potato soup), the Bandeja Paisa (a typical dish from the Medellín region), the Arepas (corn cakes), the Caribbean fish ceviche and, of course, the Colombian coffee. Exotic fruits are also a delight.
