Uganda is a prime nature destination. The flagship experience is trekking to meet the mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Murchison Falls National Park is famous for its powerful falls on the Nile and its safaris. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers varied landscapes and the unique chance to see tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Kibale National Park is the best place in Africa for observing chimpanzees. Finally, the town of Jinja is known for being the historic source of the Nile, where you can enjoy activities such as rafting.

Located on the equator, Uganda enjoys an ideal tropical climate, tempered by altitude. Temperatures are pleasant all year round (between 20 and 28°C). There are two rainy seasons:
The dry seasons (December–February and June–August) are considered the best times for safaris and treks.

Ugandan cuisine is simple and based on local produce. The staple dish is Matoke, a mash of green plantains steamed until cooked. The Rolex is the most popular street snack: an omelette rolled in a chapati. You will also find meat or fish stews, often served with a peanut sauce (groundnut stew). Fresh fish, such as grilled tilapia caught in Lake Victoria, is also delicious.
