What are the must-visit places?

Tanzania is the ultimate safari destination. The Serengeti National Park is world-famous for the Great Migration. The Ngorongoro Crater, an intact caldera, is a true Noah’s Ark, home to an incredibly dense wildlife. The Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the horizon with its massive silhouette. The Tarangire National Park is renowned for its enormous elephant herds and baobabs. On the archipelago of Zanzibar, the old town of Stone Town fascinates with its mix of Swahili, Arab, Indian, and European cultures. The beaches of Nungwi et Kendwa in the north, and Paje in the east, are true postcards.

What is the climate like?

The climate is tropical and pleasant. The best time for safaris is the dry season, from June to October. There are two rainy seasons: a long one from March to May and a short one in November-December. Zanzibar has a hot and humid climate year-round.

What to eat? The local gastronomy

In mainland Tanzania, the cuisine is simple. Nyama Choma (grilled meat) andUgali (a type of corn polenta) are staple foods. In Zanzibar, the cuisine is a delightful blend of African, Arab, and Indian influences. Try the pilau rice, the biryani, seafood curries with coconut milk, and many tropical fruits.
