What is the climate like in Uganda?

Located on the equator, Uganda enjoys an ideal tropical climate, tempered by altitude. Temperatures are pleasant all year round (between 20 and 28°C). There are two rainy seasons:

  • A long rainy season from March to May.
  • A short rainy season from September to November.

The dry seasons (December–February and June–August) are considered the best times for safaris and treks.

What to eat in Uganda? Ugandan cuisine

Ugandan cuisine is simple and based on local produce. The staple dish is Matoke, a mash of green plantains steamed until cooked. The Rolex is the most popular street snack: an omelette rolled in a chapati. You will also find meat or fish stews, often served with a peanut sauce (groundnut stew). Fresh fish, such as grilled tilapia caught in Lake Victoria, is also delicious.

The inhabitants of Uganda are called Ugandans (men) and Ugandans (women).

The official languages are English and Swahili. English is the language of administration and is widely spoken, making communication easier. Many local languages (more than 40) are also spoken.

In Uganda, sockets are type G (British model with 3 rectangular pins). An adapter is therefore essential.
